"This award would not be possible without my teammates. I appreciate all the support from the manager, the coaches, and everyone else."
"I stuck with the game plan and kept my own pace. This was probably the root of my success."
"This award really means a lot to me because it proves that my teammates and players from other teams have recognized my accomplishments."
"I want to work hard to try and help this team become a champion."
I was hoping to find the actual English, but unfortunately the Japanese news sites don't carry them. Which means these statements have gone from English to Japanese, and then back to English -- I'm sure there was something Lost in Translation.
In any case, Glynn did have himself a nice Interleague Series. In 6 starts he threw 44.2 innings, threw 649 pitches, faced 174 batters, gave up 31 hits (3 homers), walked 13, hit 2 batters, allowed 5 runs (all earned), and struck out 34 batters.
BTW: he also picked up a nice little check for 2M yen (or roughly $16,000).
