Yuuki Saito: 15 Strikeout Complete Game

Saito arguably had his best performance of his early college baseball career earlier today, striking out 15 batters in 9 frames against Keio University. The 7-0 victory made Waseda University the Tokyo Big 6 Baseball League Champions in the Fall Conference.

Keio University looked overmatched from the start as Saito piled up 10 strikeouts in the first 5 innings. Saito also gave up four hits, 2 of which were doubles, and to 2 free passes. For the season, Saito finished the season 4-2 with a 0.78 ERA (league best). In 57.2 innings, he faced 227 batters and gave up 5 runs (all earned) on 45 hits and 10 walks to go along with 52 strikeouts.

The man standing next to him is Waseda University Senior, Left Fielder Yukinaga Tanaka (right); he won the Top Batter award with his 22-for-56 performance that also included 10 runs, 4 doubles, 3 homers, 35 total bases, 18 ribs, 3 stolen bases, 6 walks, and 5 strikeouts over 14 games.
