One of the sports programs here in Japan has set up a little game for hitters called Buchinuki KING! ...or loosely translated: Break Thru KING!
What IS Buchinuki King?
Beating the game involves hitting a baseball on a T through (or "breaking thru") ten 3-4 feet square styrofoam panels, each about 2-3 feet apart.
Actually, it's a lot tougher than it sounds. So far, the only player to break through all ten boards was Yokohama Bay Stars first baseman, Yuuki Yoshimura. Ex-Angel and now current Yakult Swallow, Adam Riggs managed to break through 5. Fellow teammate Norichika Aoki broke through 4.
Marty Brown, manager of the Hiroshima Carp, as a joke, tried throwing a base through the panels and managed to get it through about 4 of them. (FYI: Brown made a name for himself when he picked up the first base bag and threw it during a game, getting himself ejected.)
