by on Sep.19, 2008 @ 9:06 am, under NPB

Central League

The Hiroshima Carp beat the Chunichi Dragons, 7-1. The Dragons and Carp were only separated by one game in the standing and so have effectively swapped places.

The Dragons couldn't get their offense started and could only managed 5 hits over 9 innings -- the one run they scored came in the top of the first on a error.

The Carp didn't seem to have any problems scoring runs -- they racked up 9 hits, including 3 home runs (2 solo shots and a 2-run shot by Kenta Kurihara in the bottom of the third) and 2 doubles. Both Scott Seabol (FO, HR, BB, 2B) and Alex Ochoa (HBP, 1B, BB, 1B, GO) ended their nights with 2 hits a piece in three ABs.
