Sanspo: Ryota Igarashi will most likely sign a 1-year deal with the Yakult Swallows so that he can try for the Majors next season. Current reports indicate that the 1-year deal may be worth 8,400-man yen (an increase of 3,000-man yen) plus bonuses.

Sanspo: Kazuya Fukuura and the Lotte Marines have agreed on a 1-year deal worth 1-oku 2,000-man yen (an increase of 3,000-man yen) plus bonuses.

Sponichi: Kazuhito Tadano is working on adding the knuckleball to his pitch repertoire this off-season. He's also working on improving his change and bringing on board a cutter. "Having a lot of options is nice. It's a lot to take in, but I want to give it a shot."

Sponichi: Matthew Kinney and Craig Brazell won't be returning to the Seibu Lions next season.

Nikkan Sports: Jason Botts and Brian Sweeney are both returning to the Ham Fighters next season with 1-year deals. While Botts won't be getting an increase (5,000-man yen), Sweeney will: from 4,400-man yen to 8,000-man yen.
