NPB Roundup for 11/28: Loe and Germano sign on with the Hawks

Sanspo: The Softbank Hawks have reportedly signed both Kameron Loe and Justin Germano. Contracts: Loe at 2 years / 1-oku, 9,000-man yen and Germano at 1 year / 5,000-man yen.

Sanspo: The Hiroshima Carp and Colby Lewis have reportedly agreed to a contract extension. No specifics on the deal yet.

Sanspo: Junichi Tazawa has also apparently contacted the Mariners to let them know he is not interested in signing with them. It would seem as though Tazawa may make an announcement of his decision to sign with the Red Sox some time early next week.

Sanspo: The Swallows and Jamie D'Antona have come to terms on a 1-year deal worth 4,700-man yen plus bonuses. The team has given him the number 4.

Sponichi: The Japan High School Baseball Federation has decided to require that all base coaches wear helmets during games starting March of 2009. Practice games are included in the scope.

Sports Hochi: Norihiro Nakamura may announce his intentions for next season as early as after tomorrow's Chunichi Dragons' Fan Appreciation Day festivities. As it stands, Nakamura appears to be leaning towards joining the Eagles next season.
