Sponichi: Quoting a Baltimore Sun article (perhaps a combination of this and this), if the Orioles, Cubs, and Padres go through with the 3-player trade involving Mike Peavy, Felix Pie, and Garrett Olson, that it could trigger Baltimore into signing one or both of Kenshin Kawakami and Koji Uehara.

Sponichi: The Orix Buffaloes are taking a look at Ryan Glynn and Ryan Vogelsong.

Sponichi: Kazuhiro Takeoka could make a return to the Majors. After undergoing a number of tests in Osaka, Braves scout Hiroyuki Oya had this to say about Takeoaka, "He's gotten better with age. I think he has enough stuff to compete in the Majors." The Braves are interested in inviting Takeoka to Spring Training.

Nikkan Sports: Yoshinori Sato could be appearing in the Jingu Batting Dome rotation. With Koji Uehara and Kenshin Kawakami leaving for the States, the batting center needs some new faces and Sato could be one of them. The current rotation, along with Uehara and Kawakami, feature Yu Darvish, Kyuji Fujikawa, Ryota Igarashi and Daisuke Miura. The last time I was there, none of these guys were in the mix -- looks like I'll have to drop by and pay them a visit.
