Sanspo: The Lotte Marines have prepared the uniform number 6 for Tadahito Iguchi, should he decide to join the team. The team is also willing to allow Iguchi to return to the States twice a year in order to allow him to keep his Green Card. Keeping his Green Card is a big deal for Iguchi and his family because he wishes to send his daughter (now 8) to a college in the States. The team may also be willing to provide his daughter an English tutor.

Sanspo: The Rakuten Golden Eagles and Oakland Athletics have signed into a 1-year business partnership. The hope behind the partnership is for the two teams to exchange ideas and methodologies for player development.

Sanspo: WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) has removed finasteride from their list of banned substances, effective since January 1st. Rick Guttormson was suspended for 20 games in 2007 for testing positive for finasteride due to his usage of Propecia

Sponichi: The New Yankee Stadium will be home to over 550 Sony TVs. Various other Sony branded items, such as notebooks and, what I'm guessing, PS3s, will also be available for visitors to try out.

Sponichi: Now that John Smoltz has joined the Red Sox, the Atlanta Braves may push a little harder to sign Kenshin Murakami. The Cardinals, Orioles, and Twins remain interested in starter.

Sponichi: Masahiro Tanaka intends to watch Daisuke Matsuzaka closely as he will have a chance to work along-side with him during their training for the WBC. "This is my chance to watch him from close by. I'll be able to see how he throws, as well as how he makes adjustments... I just want to take in as much information about how he plays the game as I can."
