Speaking at an event held in Sendai yesterday, Katsuya Nomura (73) said that he would love to manage until he's 80. I bet Miyagi prefecture is happy to hear that. Nomura also kidded by saying that the length of his stay at the helm of the Rakuten Eagles is directly proportional to how well Masahiro Tanaka pitches.
As a fan of the Eagles, I would absolutely love to see Nomura manage the team for another 7 years. He's a charismatic personality that has really helped give that team a lot more exposure. And the fans absolutely adore him.

Ken Kadokura has signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs. Kadokura is a 35-year-old, right-handed pitcher that has experience as both a reliever and starter. I'm not really sure how much he has left in the tank, as his 2-years with the Yomiuri Giants were marginal, at best.
