Norichika Aoki appears to have finally come to terms with the Yakult Swallows. The deal could be worth as much as 250M yen (a 30M yen raise from last season), up from the previously rumored figure of 242M yen.

Negotiations went on for over 3 hours yesterday and current reports seem to indicate that the two side will come to an official agreement sometime early next week.

Rakuten Eagles infielder Fernando Seguignol was selected to represent Havana in the Second Annual WBC, but has declined the invitation. "It's an honor to be selected to play for your own country, but I need to focus on the upcoming season so I'm afraid I have to decline the invititation."

The Yokohama Bay Stars are trying to figure out which player they want from the Swallows as compensation for losing Ryoji Aikawa. Bay Stars manager Akihiko Ooya did have his eyes on one particular player, but he was on the protected. There is a possibility that the team will opt for financial compensation instead.

And finally...

Rakuten Eagles pitcher Kohei Hasebe stood beneath a waterfall with water temps at about 5 C (or 41 F). This is actual something of a ritual that's supposed to test your mettle.
