Final 28-man rosters for Samurai Japan

by on Feb.22, 2009 @ 6:44 pm, under WBC

The final rosters were released last night. 5 of the 28 are Giants players. With Tatsunori Hara managing, I suppose that's not too much of a surprise. If something should happen where the teams doesn't advance, I'm willing to bet that some people will bring this up as a problem.

Tsuyoshi Wada, Takayuki Kishi, Toru Hosokawa, Nobuhiko Matsunaka, and Kenta Kurihara are the five players that were dropped.

    Not really.

Hosokawa, Matsunaka, and Kurihara were all sort of nursing injuries, so not too much of a surprise they were cut. I feel a little sorry for Mastunaka because I think he was really looking forward to playing.

If there was one surprise, it might be Kishi. But I guess he wasn’t able to make the necessary adjustments with the WBC-regulated ball.
