...The Hanshin Tigers announced that they have signed Kai-Wen Cheng out of Taiwan -- hs is on the WBC roster for Taiwan. Cheng will be wearing the number 64. No other details are currently available.

...The closers spot will most likely be a toss between Kyuji Fujikawa and Takahiro Mahara. Fujikawa does have more experience, so it would seem like that Fujikawa has the edge.

...Tickets for the game on the 5th and 7th are now completely sold out. There will also be no tickets available on the day of the game. Event organizers said, "It wasn't like this during the first WBC. Seems like it's grown in popularity."

...Kenji Johjima is hoping that the starters will at least be able to finish 4 full innings before being pulled.

...Korea still has not made a decision on Shin-Soo Choo and will most likely wait until tomorrow before making any announcements. Korea is hopeful they can get permission to use him.

...A meeting for managers was held on the 4th to iron out a few some rules to be used during the game.

  1. There was a discussion about penalizing teams that submit one starting lineup 30 minutes prior to the game to WBC ogranizers and another starting lineup during the manager's exchange 5 minutes prior to game time.
  2. Players are not allowed to sit on bases during instant replay judgements.
  3. Helmet throwing, bumping umps and playing catch in front of the dugout area during inning are all prohibited.

Great shot of the stadium. It looks like it’s going to have some great views over the outfield fences.
