    It should be interesting to see what his most effective pitches are as the data accumulates this season.

    I love that he throws a lot of fastballs — it’s really his best pitch so it makes sense that he throws it so much.

    I think his biggest problem could be occasional wildness that leads to walks. But he seems to be working on that. If you take a look at his numbers from 2007 and 2008 you’ll find a decrease in walks and strike outs. If I’m not mistaken, I think Tanaka mentioned that he would focus less on striking hitters out and more on just getting people out before his 2008 campaign.
