...The pitching staff has now given up 17 home runs over 8 games to start the season.


...Akihiro Yano started in a game on Sunday at Ni-gun against Hiroshima and went 0-for-2 with a walk. He also didn't appear to have any troubles behind the plate over the 3 innings he played.

...Norihiro Akahoshi has been battling lower back pains ever since before the season started. He was held out of the starting line-up on Saturday and wasn't in the starting line-up again on Sunday, although he did enter the game as a pinch runner in the 8th and was able to steal second.


...In Saturday's game against the Bay Stars, Kazuki Fukuchi drew 8 pick-off attempts from Ryan Glynn in the first while Keizo Kawashima was up to bat.


...The NPB and Pro Baseball Players Association got together for a meeting on the 12th to discuss the possibility of holding a game between NPB players and college players in celebration of the league's 60th Anniversary. It appears as though such a game could take place some time in November.
