...If everything goes well, Minoru Iwata could make a Ni-gun start as early as May 2nd. That means he could b be ready to make a return to the parent club sometime around the third week of May.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto is on pace to hit 96 home runs. Ok, that obviously isn't going to happen, but he could certainly make a run at the seasonal mark of 55, first set by Sadaharu Oh in 1964, and then repeated by Tuffy Rhodes in 2001 and Alex Cabrera in 2002.

Here are the number of home runs each of the players had after 12 games (according to this Sanspo article):

  • 9 Kanemoto
  • 7 Oh
  • 4 Cabrera
  • 3 Rhodes

...Katsuya Nomura needs only 5 more victories to reach 1,500 career wins as a manager. There are still 11 more games left on the schedule this month.

...From the "I forgot to mention in my game summaries" department: Michihiro Ogasawara was hit by a pitch in last night's game against the Dragons and was subsequently lifted for a pinch runner. His status for today's game against the Dragons is not yet known.
