...Tsuyoshi Nishioka announced on the 27th that he will be donating 10,000yen (about US$100) to an organization that supports patients with leukemia for every hit he records this season.

...Kento Tsujimoto was seen jogging with Minoru Iwata. Tsujimoto was diagnosed with a stress facture in his fifth lumbar vertebra in January and has been slowly rehabbing since then. He can now finally play some light catch and do some dashes.

...Minoru Iwata potential schedule moving forward: 2-3 innings in a game on the 5th against Ni-gun Hiroshima, and then a start (100 pitch limit) on the 12th against Ni-gun Softbank. If everything goes well, he could be back in the Ichi-gun rotation for a start on the 19th.

...Akinobu Mayumi hinted that he will be going with a platoon of Kodai Sakurai and Ikuro Katsuragi in right.

...Kenta Kurihara was diagnosed as having a slipped disk. But it doesn't appear to be serious as Kurihara is likely to be in the starting line-up against the Giants on the 28th.

...The Eagles announced that they will be starting recently called up Takashi Kawaii tonight against the Nippon Ham Fighters. Masahiro Tanaka could take the mound on the 29th.

...Food for thought: Katsuya Nomura recently mentioned that it might be better to use Hisashi Iwakuma as a long reliever instead of as a starter.

"Since he can only go 7 innings, he may as well appear in the third or fourth. After all, the final three innings are the most important in baseball."

...The Hawks informed Kameron Loe that he could be taken out of the starting rotation if he doesn't start to show some results. Loe is currently 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA. He's given up 20 hits and 8 walks in 16.2 innings of work.

...The Swallows announced that they will be selling outfield seats for a game on June 5th for 1,000yen (normally 1,500yen) to any fans that are wearing FC Tokyo memorabilia.

...Kimiyasu Kudo could be back with the parent club soon. If and when he does make it back to Ichi-gun, it will most likely be as a reliever. It'll be the first time since 1989 that Kudo was used strictly as a reliever.
