...Tony Blanco's home run at Tokyo Dome yesterday hit the top of the Bulgaria sign. Had it actually hit the sign, he would have been eligible to receive 1M yen. The ball was estimated to have traveled 150m.

...Daisuke Yamai was demoted to Ni-gun after giving up 13 runs (10 earned) over 14 innings of work (4 starts).

...With the Tigers 12-15-1 after 28 games, the front off may be ready to make some changes to help the team win. That could include cutting Kevin Mench loose and finding someone else to replace him. And while I wouldn't think that Akinobu Mayumi's job is in jeopardy, it could be if he doesn't turn things around soon.

...Kyuji Fujikawa is will begin to toss bullpen sessions starting today. The current plan is for him to return to Ichi-gun on the 13th.

...Tomoyuki Kubota tweaked his back during practice on the 6th and his second scheduled Ni-gun start against Softbank on the 14th has been pushed back. He next start at Ni-gun could come on the 21st against Hiroshima.

...Yu Darvish picked up his first win at home last night when the Fighters beat the Buffaloes 10-1.

...Mamoru Kishida was removed from the active roster earlier today due to right shoulder stiffness.

...Masahiro Tanaka is still on track for a return on either the 12th or 13th. Tanaka also held his first bullpen session yesterday.

...Yosuke Takasu was diagnosed with damage to the outer intra-articular ligament in his left foot (左足関節内外側靱帯損傷) and will require 8-10 weeks for a complete recovery.

...Teppei Tsuchiya was removed from the active roster due to not feeling well.

...Looks like the Hawks did their home work when they decided to pick up Jose Ortiz for some help. Through 10 games he's batting .324 with 3 homers.

...The Swallows will likely be upgrading Yuki Tanaka's Ikusei contract so that he can take part in the upcoming series against the Tigers starting on the 15th. In 5 games at Ni-gun this season, he is 0-1 with a 2.14 ERA.

...Norichika Aoki has been hit a league high 6 times this season.

...Tom Hanks threw out the ceremonial first pitch in yesterday's game against the Chunichi Dragons. Ron Howard was the ceremonial catcher. And Hayato Sakamoto was in the batter's box.

...Marc Kroon was originally scheduled to rejoin the team on the 9th but it appears that his return will be pushed back a bit. With the bullpen doing well, the team wants to make sure that Kroon is 100% before calling him up.

...Shinnosuke Abe's grandmother passed away in the early morning of the 7th. Abe later hit a home run in a game on the 8th and wanted to present it as an offering to her spirit. The fan that caught the ball contacted the Giants and returned the ball to Abe. In a show of appreciate and gratitude, Abe gave the fan a signed bat.
