NPB: Rhodes to return to the US to get his hand checked out

...Chris Resop, who has been working out at Ni-gun in an effort to make it back to Ichi-gun, complained for tightness in his back and will get the next few days off.


...Tuffy Rhodes will be returning to the US on the 17th to have his right hand checked out.

...Fans attending the Buffaloes / Fighters game at the Kyocera Dome on Saturday were asked not to let go of any Rocket Balloons during the game due a number of cases of swine flu that hit the country.

...Mitsutaka Goto was taken off the active roster on the 16th due to a right hamstring injury he suffered while running the bases on the 15th against the Nippon Ham Fighters.


...Seung-Yeop Lee complained for some tightness in his back after his at bat in the 6th on the 15th in a game between the Giants and Carp; he was taken out of the game after the at bat. Lee was not in the starting line-up on Saturday and is listed as day-to-day.


...Pacific League ump Tadayoshi Hayashi officiated his 2,500th game on the 15th (as a third base ump) in a game between the Orix Buffaloes and Nippon Ham Fighters. He is the 14th PL ump to reach the milestone.
