...Akihiro Yano continues to work out at the Naruohama Baseball Grounds (also known as the Tigers Den). After throwing long tosses from about 50 meters, Yano was also seen throwing the ball between the bases. No clear timetable on when he'll be ready.

...Craig Brazell took about 38 grounders at third during practice on the Sunday. He also took 105 swings in batting practice and deposited 7 over the fence. Brazell could join the parent club as early as the 5th when the Tigers play host to the Buffaloes at Koshien Stadium.

...Kan Ohtake's scoreless inning streak came to an end at 43.2 innings yesterday against the Rakuten Eagles. You can also get more information at my post on Scoreless Inning Streaks in the NPB.

...Naoyuki Ohmura went 4-for-4 against the Bay Stars on Sunday and in the process collected his 1,807th hit. Ohmura currently has the most hits among active players in the Pacific League.

...Alex Cabrera is now back in Japan after spending some time in the States to get work done on his broken right pinky toe. It would appear as though he'll be out at least until July.
