...Gary Burnham Jr. was looking forward to facing Seth Greisinger last night, but he was taken off the active roster prior to the game. The two players faced each other a number of times during their college days 13 years ago.

...Hiroyuki Kobayashi made his first relief appearance since July 2003 in last night's game against the Yomiuri Giants.

...Hiram Bocachica's grand slam last night gave the Lions 2 in as many games (Takeya Nakamura hit a grand slam the night before).

...Useless Factoid: Hisanobu Watanabe's wife and Masao Kida's older brother went to the same school (same year).

SOFTBANK HAWKS

...Kenji Ohtonari was involved in a minor car accident on Wednesday and injured his pinky finger on his left hand. According to police reports, Ohtonari was making a turn and hit by another car. He was not at fault for the accident.

Ohtonari was removed from the active roster prior to yesterday's game.

YAKULT SWALLOWS

...Chang-Yong Lim gave up his first run (unearned) of the season in his appearance against the Seibu Lions last night. He had gone 20 consecutive appearances from the start of the season (a club record).
