HANSHIN TIGERS

...Craig Brazell and Mitsunobu Takahashi will likely join the parent club on Friday.

...Minoru Iwata could be the starter for the parent club on the 8th when the Tigers play host to the Softbank Hawks.

...Makoto Imaoka's demotion to Ni-gun had the team owner, Nobuo Minami, scratching his head a little. Not so much that he was demoted (which also makes this the third straight year he's had to be demoted during the first half of the season), but more so because he isn't sure why Imaoka hasn't been able to hit.

Said Minami, "I really don't understand what's going on with him. Is it a physical thing? Or maybe a mental thing? Or maybe it's something he's not doing right?"

BTW: Imaoka is making 180M ($US1.87M) yen this season.

...Yuya Ando was removed from the active roster on Thursday after being hit in the right buttocks by a come-backer during a game against the Eagles on Wednesday night. The team probably also felt now would be a good time to give him some rest.

...Jet balloons could be making a comeback at Koshien Stadium as early as the 20th when the Tigers play host to the Rakuten Eagles.

NIPPON HAM FIGHTERS

...Yu Darvish will likely be the starting pitcher on the 6th when the Fighters take on the Yomiuri Giants at the Tokyo Dome.

YAKULT SWALLOWS

...For the first time since being taken off the active rosters on May 28th for popping a blister, Yoshinori Sato held a 30-pitch bullpen session. Sato could be back with the parent club as early as the 10th when the Swallows play the Softbank Hawks.

YOMIURI GIANTS

...Dicky Gonzalez is 5-0 to start the season. The only other pitcher to do that for the Giants was Eiji Sawamura back in 1936.

OTHER

...Hosei University held a victory parade through the streets of Ichigaya on the Thursday to celebrate their Tokyo Big 6 Spring Championship Victory. An estimated 4,000 fans were on hand to watch the parade.
