Would you return a $100,000 watch to break a bad streak?

Katsuya Nomura is returning a watch he received as an early birthday present from his wife.

Not news enough for you?

Ok, how about this: he's returning the watch because he feels it might be bringing the team bad luck.

Still not enough?

The watch is apparently a Franck Muller that some claim could be worth close to 10M yen (~US$103,760).

The cursed Franck Muller!

Talk about baseball players and superstitions...

And this one certainly tops his business card superstition.

Said Nomura, "Since this thing arrived, we've been losing a lot. I'll get this exchanged for something else. ... I feel sorry for the watch. The team is losing because of it's skill, the watch has no fault. But if the losses keep piling up..."

Oh you poor little watch...

Ok, so he's getting something else in exchange. Still, it seems like a lot for some one to do just so that they can break a string of bad luck.

BTW: he's a big watch collector.
