CHIBA LOTTE MARINES

...The Lotte offense has been sputtering as of late and there's talk that Bobby Valentine might be considering a change in batting coach personnel.

Said Valentine, "I'm considering all my options right now, including a temporary change with the batting coach... Anything to help get the offense going."

It'll be interesting to see if this causes any friction with the FO...

HANSHIN TIGERS

...Minoru Iwata tossed about 80 pitches during a bullpen session on Friday. Iwata is expected to start one of the two games in an upcoming series against the Softbank Hawks that starts on Sunday.

SOFTBANK HAWKS

...Tsuyoshi Wada will be heading to the US on the 9th to get his left left elbow checked out.

YOMIURI GIANTS

...The Giants were the first time in the NPB to get to the 30-win mark.

...Dicky Gonzalez picked up his 6th consecutive victory in as many starts. The last Giant to do that was Eiji Sawamura in 1936. The last foreign player to do that was Leo Kiely in 1953.

Gonzalez also has not given up a walk in 41.1 innings.

It’s too bad that the Marines are struggling a bit. I’d really like to see Valentie go out on a high note.
