...Katsuhiro Nagakawa picked up his 20th save of the year on Sunday afternoon. That now gives up 20 or more saves over the past 4 years.

...Shinji Takahashi now has at least 1 RBI in his last 8 straight games. Takahashi is also in the middle of a modest 4-game muti-hit streak in which he has gone 12-for-16.
...Sho Nakata will be demoted to Ni-gun on the 22nd. Fighters' manager Masataka Nashida said, "He had a couple of decent swings, but the reality is, he isn't really ready for Ichi-gun."
Unless they felt that Nakata had something to learn by sitting on the bench all this time, he really should have been sent back down to Ni-gun much sooner.

...Hiroyuki Nakajima hit his 100th and 101st career home runs against the Yakult Swallows on Sunday afternoon. His 101st career home run was also his 10th home run of the season, giving him at least 10 over the last 6 season.
...Norichika Aoki left Sunday afternoon's game early after he hurt his right ankle while running out a grounder in the bottom of the 7th. Aoki will visit an area hospital on Monday to have it checked out.
...Ryota Igarashi set a new club record for consecutive appearances without a run at 21. The previous record of 20 was set by Chang-Yong Lim early in the season. Igarashi didn't appear to know about the record and was quoted as saying, "Record, what record are you talking about?"
...Taishi Ohta finally got his chance to hit when the Giants sent him in to pinch-hit for Tetsuya Matsumoto in the bottom of the 9th. Ohta ended up striking out on three pitches from Chiba Lotte Marines' reliever Brian Sikorski.
...The Gunma Diamond Pegasus (Baseball Challenge League) clinched the best first half record for the Joushin'etsu region when the second place Niigata Albirex Baseball Club lost to the Shinano Grandserows 6-5 on Sunday.
