NPB: Aoki’s left ankle appears ok; Swallows to ban jet balloons permanently?

...Norichika Aoki's left ankle appears to be ok. He took BP with the rest of the team on Wednesday and didn't appear to have any problems with it.

...The Swallows are heading in the direction of permanently banning all jet balloons from Jingu Stadium. This comes on the heals of a temporary ban that was started on May 24th due to the swing flu. Sanitation and the amount of time it takes to clean-up all the jet balloons were cited as reasons for the potential permanent ban.


...Shinnosuke Abe's back appears to be ok. Abe hopes to be in the starting line-up when play resumes on the 26th (he was being used off the bench).

Abe initially felt tightness in his back on the 16th when the Giants played against the Seibu Lions.


...The Osaka Gold Villicanes, the Kishu Rangers, and the Akashi Red Soldiers out of the Kansai Independent League have decided that they will pay a portion of the 22M yen bill Stella sent them for their uniforms. To that end, the KIL will be sending Stella a letter explaining the amount they are willing to pay and whether or not they would agree to the amount.

...Taiwan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francisco H.L. Ou, is proposing that Taiwan and Japan set up a joint youth baseball camp to help "boost bilateral relations" between the two countries.
