It appears as though Chang-Yong Lim will be playing for the Swallows for at least one more season.
Mainichi is reporting that Lim announced that the Swallows have exercised the option year on his contract and that he intends on pitching in Japan next season.
"My third year was an option that the team controlled and the media was speculating about where I was going to play next season," said Lim. "At least for next season, I'll be back with Yakult. I'd like to focus on the games at hand now."
No other details are currently known about the agreement.
Lim is currently 2-0 with 19 saves and a 0.00 ERA over 31.2 innings of work. He has faced 122 batters and has given up only 16 hits, walks 9, hit 1, and struck out 26. Lim has given up 2 unearned runs.
Incidentally, Gendai apparently carried an article (this is a link to a Google cached article) back on June 2nd that reported on the possibility that the Swallows had already exercised Lim's option prior to the start of the season.
