...Colby Lewis recorded his first complete game since September 9, 2008. He made quick work of the Tigers, requiring only 95 pitches for the CG win.

...I didn't get a chance to see the replays, but Yu Darvish apparently isn't happy about the home run he gave up to Takeya Nakamura in the second inning. The ball went down the left field line and the umps called it fair. Darvish felt otherwise.

"Nakamura-san also must have thought it went foul because he paused the minute he saw it," said Darvish. "A slider like that can't be hit for a home run."

...The Hawks avoided losing consecutive games by beating the Buffaloes last night, 3-2. They have not lost consecutive games since doing so on May 12 and 13 against the Chiba Lotte Marines. The team has gone 26-9-1 since then.

...Last night was Kawakami Village Vegetable Promotions night at Jingu Stadium. The winner of the home run award would get 24 heads of lettuce sent to their door. Hopefully Jamie D'Antona likes lettuce -- his 2 home runs in the game just netted him 48 heads of lettuce.

"I love lettuce so I'm happy," said D'Antona. "I'll be eating it for a week. And it's healthy!"

...The Crown Prince and Princess, along with their daughter, will be on hand to watch the Swallows play host to the Yokohama Bay Stars at Jingu Stadium on the 12th.

...Yoshitomo Tsutsugo knocked out his 67th career high school home run at a practice game against Yokohama Shoka University High School on Wednesday.
