HANSHIN TIGERS

...Akihiro Yano started in a game against Ni-gun Hiroshima on Saturday and went 1-for-2 with a walk. He stayed in the game until the 5th. His last rehab start came on June 30th against Ni-gun Softbank, but after feeling some pain in his right elbow after the game, they shut him down for a few days and held off on letting him appear in any games.

RAKUTEN EAGLES

...Hisashi Iwakuma will likely be called up to start Sunday's game against the Softbank Hawks.

SOFTBANK HAWKS

...Tsuyoshi Wada tossed a 1-2-3 inning in a practice game against a group of players out of the Shikoku - Kyushu Island League. He was originally scheduled to toss 2 innings, but was taken out early (he was also hit in the left hand by a come-backer to the mound). Wada maxed out at 139km/h on the radar gun.

Assuming he's feeling fine, his next start will likely come against a Ni-gun team and over a longer stretch of innings.

OTHER

...Yuki Saito and Kazuhito Futagami made final preparations for the upcoming 37th Annual USA vs. Japan Collegiate Championships. The final practice session lasted roughly 2 hours. Futagami tossed 40 pitches in a bullpen session and Saito focused primarily on running laps.
