HANSHIN TIGERS

...Shinobu Fukuhara lost his 8th game of the season last night when the Dragons beat the Tigers, 6-1. Fukuhara has now lost 4 in a row and has given up 70 hits and 22 walks in 66.1 innings of work. There's a good chance he could be removed from the active roster in the very near future.

...Masashi Sajikihara has now appeared in 106 games and has not been the losing pitcher in one of them. That's good for a third place tie (with former Carp Kazuo Yamamoto) on the All-Time list.

...After Sankei Sports learned that Hideki Matsui's PR rep was at Koshien Stadium last night, they decided to conduct an "emergency" survey to see if fans thought Matsui would fit in with the Tigers. Of the 100 surveyed, 82 said that they would love to see Matsui in a Tigers' uniform next season.

NIPPON HAM FIGHTERS

...Yu Darvish announced on his blog on Wednesday he and his wife are expecting a second child.

YOMIURI GIANTS

...Michihiro Ogasawara has now hit at least 20 home runs in each of his last 5 seasons.

...Shinnosuke Abe's back started acting up on him during practice before last night's game against the Swallows. He was later taken to a hospital to have his back checked out. The Giants have a day off today and will see how Abe does over the next day before making any decisions on what to do with him. The Giants are hoping he won't need time off the active rosters.
