They will also probably call up Keisuke Mizuda to help bolster the bullpen. Satoru Kanemura, also to be called up, is penciled in to start his first game of the year tonight.
...Shinobu Fukuhara was taken off the active rosters yesterday after losing his 8th game of the season on the 15th against the Chunichi Dragons. Team owner Shinya Sakai wasn't happy about Fukuhara's outing either, blaming the pitcher for the team's loss.
...Tomoyuki Kubota may have just pitched himself back to Ni-gun (or the bullpen). It was only his first start of the season, so some rust is expected, but he did give up 4 runs (all earned) on 7 hits, 2 strikes out, and 2 walks over 2.1 innings.
...Jeff Williams gave up 4 walks in his outing last night against the Chunichi Dragons. The last time he did that was back on August 18th, 2006 against the Yakult Swallows at Jingu Stadium.
...Masashi Sajikihara's appearances without a loss streak is still intact. It now stands at 107.
...Tuffy Rhodes could be ready to rejoin the parent club for their first game after the All-Star break on the 28th vs. the Softbank Hawks at Nagasaki.

...Tsuyoshi Wada gave up 6 runs on 9 hits, 1 walk, 1 HBP, and struck out 1 over 5 innings of work against Ni-gun Hanshin in his first rehab start on Thursday.
...Yoshinori Sato will get one last start before the All-Star break. That start will come tomorrow night against the Hiroshima Carp at Mazda Stadium. Sato has already been penciled in to appear in Game 2 of the All-Star Game Series.
...A polo shirt designed by Norichika Aoki will be packaged with tickets for games against the Hanshin Tigers on August 18, 19, and 20. The special set will carry a price-tag of 4,300yen (the tickets by themselves usually cost 3,900yen and are on the first base side of the field) and will go on sale starting on July 18th. Only 1,000 sets will be available.
