Acting Chiba Lotte Marines' owner Akio Shigemitsu admitted that an internal investigation confirmed that a document with meeting minutes that mentioned Ryozo Setoyama talking about a potential team move and considerations for firing Bobby Valentine before the end of the season was in fact real, but that the document itself was not considered a problem.
"A document that did not contain seals from the team president and staff did make the rounds," said Shigemitsu about the leaked document. "It would be incorrect if I said the information wasn't what was initially reported, but the point of the message was to try and get everyone more motivated. Things could have been stated better, but I don't see it as a major problem."
Shigemitsu also confirmed once again that there were no plans to move the team away from Chiba and that Valentine would not be fired before the end of the season.
Lotte intends on sending 2 more people from the main office in order to implement a stronger policy on information management.
Interestingly enough (as noted by Nikkei Net), Shigemitsu apparently said nothing to address the negative comments made about Chiba Lotte fans in the leaked document.
