6:55pm Update: Top of the 2nd, PL 1 - CL 0

Tanaka is in, Darvish is out after the first.

Darvish was hit by a come-backer during the last play of the top of the 1st. I'm not sure if that's the reason or not, but Tanaka is now in.

BTW: Darvish was really bringing it in the first. He topped out at 154km/h and of the 14 pitches he threw, 11 were fastballs that were clocked at or over 150km/h.

7:15pm Update: Top of the 3rd, PL 1 - CL 0

Sakamoto pops out to the catcher against Tanaka. 2 outs.

The two were classmates in elementary school and junior high. They also played for the same baseball team when they were in elementary school. Tanaka was a catcher and Sakamoto was a pitcher back then.

7:10pm Update: Bottom of the 3rd, PL 1 - CL 0

Tateyama in for the CL.

7:26pm Update: Darvish update: He was hit in the right shoulder. He's currently icing the shoulder. Had it not been for that, Darvish probably would have came out for a second inning.

7:28pm Update: Top of the 4th, PL 2 - CL 1

Alex Ramirez just nailed a 1-out solo home run off Tanaka.

7:41pm Update: Top of the 5th, PL 2 - CL 1

Kishi in for Tanaka in the 5th.

7:44pm Update: Top of the 5th, PL 2 - CL 2

Araki hit a sac fly to score Uchikawa at third. Uchikawa made a nifty little slide into home to avoid a tag.

8:00pm Update: Top of the 6th, CL 3 - PL 2

Ogaswara drives in the go-ahead run with a double.

8:04pm Update: I should probably mention that Yoshinori Sato is the first base coach and could be available as a pinch-runner, if necessary.

8:04pm Update: Bottom of the 6th, CL 3 - PL 2

Kawai in for Yamaguchi (Yamaguchi came in to pitch the 5th).

8:16pm Update: Bottom of the 6th, CL 3 - PL 3

Kawai just walked in a run. Bases still loaded with only 1 out. Nioka up to bat.

8:19pm Update: Bottom of the 6th, CL 3 - PL 3

Uchikawa just made a great throw to catch Nakajima trying to score at home after catching Nioka's fly ball to right. Inning over.

8:20pm Update: Top of the 7th, CL 3 - PL 3

And who leads off the inning for the CL in the 7th? None other than Uchikawa.

Falkenborg now in to pitch for the PL.

8:35pm Update: Bottom of the 7th, PL 5 - CL 3

Inaba just laid down an unexpected bunt and 2-runs just came around to score as Ogasawara rushed his throw to first and threw the ball over Blanco's outreached glove.

8:39pm Update: Bottom of the 7th, PL 7 - CL 3

Takahashi just hit a 2-run single, driving Inaba and Nakamura home.

8:41pm Update: Bottom of the 7th, PL 8 - CL 3

Takahashi just crossed the plate on Kusano's GIDP.

8:41pm Update: Top of the 8th, PL 8 - CL 3

Arime now pitching for the PL.

Aoki walks to lead-off the inning.

8:51pm Update: Top of the 8th, PL 8 - CL 4

Ramirez follows Ogasawara's single with a double. Aoki scores.

8:51pm Update: Top of the 8th, PL 8 - CL 7

Uchikawa doubles in 2 runs, after Blanco pushed a run across on a ground out second.

Arime is out, Settsu in.

Runner on second, still only 1 out.

9:03pm Update: Top of the 8th, PL 8 - CL 7

Uchikawa thrown out at the plate, trying to score on a somewhat shallow fly ball to center, hit by Higashide.

9:06pm Update: Bottom of the 8th, PL 8 - CL 7

Miura Diasuke in to pitch for the CL.

9:15pm Update: Top of the 9th, CL 9 - PL 8

Takeda in to pitch the 9th for the PL.

Aoki nails a 2-run homer to give the CL a 9-8 lead.

9:21pm Update: Top of the 9th, CL 10 - PL 8

The CL scores another run on an RBI single by Blanco.

9:30pm Update: Final: CL 10 - PL 8

Miura strikes out Kaneko to end the game.

Funny, my thought watching it on TV was "The CL hero is the guy who didn’t even belong here in the first place…"

Well, along with "Goddamnit Hisashi, stop blowing saves."

I thought the best part of the broadcast was actually all the guys in the booth for color commentating. Egawa was like "Sheesh, why do the Pacific League fans bounce up and down so damn much?"
