...Kazuyoshi Tatsunami stood in for his 10,000th plate appearance on Satuday night against the Yakult Swallows. He becomes only the 7th player in NPB history to reach that milestone.

...The Tigers became the first club to top 2,000,000 for fan attendance this season. With the 46,851 in attendance on Saturday, the Tigers have now drawn 2,035,994 fans to date this season.
...Katsuhiro Nagakawa recorded his 150th career save on Saturday night against the Yokohama Bay Stars. He becomes only the 7th person to reach that milestone.

...Shinji Takahashi's right knee is barking. He left Friday night's game in the 6th due to his pain in his right knee and started at first on Saturday against the Softbank Hawks.
...Naoto Watanabe suffered a major brain freeze on Saturday night during his at bat in the 6th. Watanabe hit a single to right that dunked in right in front of the right fielder. For some reason, he thought the ball was caught and began to slowly walk away from first. By the time he realized he had gotten a hit, he was tagged out.
Suffice to say, Katsuya Nomura wasn't all to happy about the play.
"I've seen a lot of things happen during my 50 years in baseball, but there just are too many strange things happening this season. I don't recall every seeing something like that happen. I give up."
...The Ni-gun Hawks were in Korea on Saturday to play the pro Lotte team and lost 7-3.
...Jamie D'Antona is starting to heat up and finished the month of July with a .416 batting average.
...Shinya Miyamoto was not in the starting line-up again on Saturday (second day straight) after he fell on his right hand during a play on the field on Thursday when the Swallows played host to the Hiroshima Carp. He's currently listed as day-to-day.
