...The Buffaloes announced that Greg LaRocca will be returning to the States to have his right hand examined. LaRocca was hit by a pitch on July 28th in a game against the Softbank Hawks and suffered a fracture in his right hand.
It is possible that LaRocca will have surgery on his hand while in the States but the Buffaloes would like for him to return to Japan for his rehab.
...The Eagles announced that they will continue to use the training facilities on Kume Island in Okinawa next spring.
...Yoshihito Ishii earned his FA rights today with 8 years of service time on the active roster.
...The Hawks are asking fans to donate money for a relief fund that will go directly towards helping those that were affected by the torrential rains in July in the Fukuoka region. Fans will be able to donate money during most home games in August. Once the money is collected, it (along with donations from the players) will be sent to the Community Chest of Fukuoka Prefecture.
...Yoshinobu Takahashi spent 15 minutes taking ground balls at first base during practice on Tuesday. Takahashi also worked on his catching and throwing from first base using a first baseman's glove.
It was the first time Takahashi practiced at first since he was in high school.
