Hanshin Tigers

...Chris Resop is on his way back to the States for rehab on his right elbow. No word on when he'll be back.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...The Fighters found out on Friday that Hichori Morimoto will be out at least a month and a half.

Orix Buffaloes

...Tuffy Rhodes collected his 300th double in the first inning of Friday night's game against the Chiba Lotte Marines (Shunuske Watanabe was pitching). Tuffy is the 53rd player in NPB history to reach the milestone.

Rakuten Eagles

...Katsuya Nomura is thinking about hiring a team nutritionist because he feels his players aren't eating enough (especially, meat). Or perhaps it was after catching a glimpse of what Ryohei Isaka was eating at the hotel dining room.

"Baseball players are manual laborers," said Nomura. "They need to eat more meet. We need to hire someone and have them check over what the players are eating."

Yokohama Bay Stars

...Not what the Bay Stars need: Shuichi Murata injured his biceps femoris muscle in his left leg (左大腿二頭筋) while running out a grounder in the 7th against the Chunichi Dragons on Friday night. He will be out at least 3-4 weeks.

Yomiuri Giants

...Alex Ramirez surpassed Wally Yonamine on Friday night with his 1,220th game, setting a new Central League record for most games by a foreign player. The NPB record of 1,626 games (and counting) is held by Tuffy Rhodes.
