Chunichi Dragons

...Masahiko Morino had a big game last night against the Yokohama Bay Stars: 5-for-5 with 3 runs and 5 RBI. He hit a 2-run homer in the 1st; a single in the 3rd; a 2-run homer in the 5th; an RBI single in the 6th; and a single in the 9th.

It was the first time Morino recorded 2 homers and 5 RBIs in 1 game.

Chiba Lotte Marines

...Tomoya Satozaki experienced dizzy spells during yesterday's game against the Buffaloes and was taken out of the game early. He was taken to a hospital after the game and tests did not reveal any underlying problems. Satozaki is currently listed as day-to-day.

Hanshin Tigers

...Takahiro Arai hit doubles in his first three consecutive at bats in last night's game against the Hiroshima Carp. It is the second time he has collected 3 doubles in a game during his career (the first time was back on August 24, 2002 against the Yakult Swallows when he was a member of the Hiroshima Carp).

The NPB record is 4.

Orix Buffaloes

...Alex Cabrera was fined 50,000yen and given a stern warning for arguing balls and strikes and getting thrown out of a game against the Chiba Lotte Marines on Friday.

Seibu Lions

...The Lions announced that they have topped the 1M mark in attendance on Friday with their game against the Softbank Hawks. 17,476 were in attendance on Friday, giving the team a total 1,001,083 in attendance so far this season.

Yakult Swallows

...Shohei Tateyama was taken off the active roster today after popping a blister on his right hand during last night's game against the Yomiuri Giants. The team wasn't sure if he would be ready for his next start and decided it would make sense to remove him.

...Michihiro Ogasawara launched his 150th Tokyo Dome home run last night against the Yakult Swallows.

...Shinnosuke Abe was recognized on Friday for his charitable contributions to the Japan Red Cross. Abe has been donating 10,000yen (about US$100) for every base hit he records and has donated about 3,458,700yen (about US$34,500) to the Japan Red Cross so far.


...There was a 34-minute rain delay in last night's game between the Nippon Ham Fighters and Rakuten Eagles after the top of the 7th inning ended. Both Yu Darvish (for 2 innings) and Masahiro Tanaka (for 1 inning) returned to pitch after play resumed.
