Around the NPB Horn: Tatsunami gets 2,472th hit, alone in 7th place on hit list

Chunichi Dragons

...Kazuyoshi Tatsunami recorded his 2,472th hit of his career against the Yokohama Bay Stars Saturday night when he entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the top of the 9th and hit a double to right. He now has sole possession of 7th place on the all-time hit list.

Orix Buffaloes

...The Buffaloes announced that Greg LaRocca will be returning to Japan on the 9th. LaRocca apparently had surgery on his right hand while in the States because the team felt it would speed up his recovery.

Rakuten Eagles

...Ryohei Isaka complained of pain in his chest and was immediately taken to a hospital in Sendai. He was diagnosed with a pneumothorax of the left lung (左肺の自然気胸) and underwent surgery. Isaka was taken off the active roster today and could be back within 10 days.

Seibu Lions

...Takayuki Kishi is now 11-1 after last night's victory against the Softbank Hawks. That 1 loss? It came against the Hiroshima Carp on May 25th. That means Kishi is still undefeated against Pacific League teams this season. And if you go back to last season, Kishi is running on a 16-0 streak against PL teams.

...Jonah Bayliss made an appearance in a Ni-gun game against Lotte today and gave up a run on 3 hits in 1 inning of work. Bayliss will appear in at least one more game at Ni-gun before being called up to the parent club.

Yomiuri Giants

...Yoshiyuki Kamei nailed his third walk-off home run of the season on Saturday night in a game against the Yakult Swallows, tying a club record previously set by Sadaharu Oh in 1970.

...Yoshinobu Takahashi took situational BP on Saturday for the first time since February. Takahashi is working towards a potential Ni-gun start on the 11th against Seibu.
