...Hitoki Iwase picked up his 228th career save against the Yakult Swallows on Saturday night. He is now in sole possession of third on the All-Time Saves list.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...The Fighters became the second team in the NPB, first team in the Pacific League, to reach 60 wins last night when they beat the Seibu Lions, 3-2.

Rakuten Eagles

...Masahiro Tanaka joined Yu Darvish and Hideaki Wakui as pitchers that have entered into the NPB out of high school and have won a total 30 pro games in 3 years after graduating from high school.

Seibu Lions

...Kazuhiro Kiyohara will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on the 22nd when the Lions play host to the Chiba Lotte Marines at Seibu Dome. This is part of the ongoing Lions Classic 2009 celebration.

Yakult Swallows

...Shinya Miyamoto was taken off the active roster on Saturday feeling some discomfort in his left thigh during Friday night's game against the Chunichi Dragons. He was diagnosed today with fasciitis of the left thigh (左太もも前筋膜炎). There is no set date for his return.

Yomiuri Giants

...Michihiro Ogasawara wasn't in the starting line-up on Saturday night for the first time since October 3, 2007. The team is still trying to find out what caused the tightness in Ogaswara's left leg on Friday.
