Chiba Lotte Marines
...The Marines announced that they will be selling a special edition "Lotte 40 Years" paper. The paper will carry images and look back at the team over the last 40 years. The paper will cost 200yen a piece and will be available for purchase at the Marines' Store in limited quantities.
(Sponichi)...The Marines are planning on offering new seats behind home plate (about 30) that will also come with game commentary from former Lotte (and batting champ in 1991) Mitsuchika Hirai.
The seats will undergo a trial run on the 18 (vs Orix) and 25 (Softbank). Seats in the first row will costs 13,000yen a pop while seats starting in the second row and on will cost 11,000yen.
...The Tigers are going to take a look at two players out of the Korean Baseball League: outfielder Taek-Keun Lee with the Heroes and infielder Tae-Gyun Kim of the Hanwha Eagles.

...After Shota Ohno was diagnosed with the flu on Sunday, the team announced that Terrmel Sledge, Naoki Miyanishi, Takayuki Kanamori, and head coach Junichi Fukura have also contracted the flu. In addition, it seems likely that the have have the swine flu.
...Daijiro Oishi's fate as manager of the team for next season rests on how well the team does over the rest of the season.
...Katsuya Nomura hinted to Sponichi that if the Eagles were to make it to the Climax Series, he could very well return to the team next season.
"It'll be harder for them to get rid of me if we win the Climax Series. If that happens, there's a chance I'll return."
...20-year-old Fumikazu Kimura will likely make a start with the parent club on the 20th against the Softbank Hawks. Kimura is currently 1-10 with a 6.39 over 80.1 innings of work at Ni-gun.
...After Chikara Onodera was taken off the active roster for his poor outing against the Nippon Ham Fighters on the 16th, the team will now turn to Jonah Bayliss, Koji Onuma, Taiyo Fujita, and Fumiya Nishiguchi as possible candidates to take over the closer role.

...Shohei Tateyama is back with the parent club. He was taken off the active roster on the 18th with a popped blister on his right middle finger. The time off also allowed him to go back and look through some old footage.
...After hearing about 3 more players on the Nippon Ham Fighters coming down with the flu, team officials stated that they will begin reminding personnel and players about washing their hands, gargling, and wearing face masks to protect themselves from the flu.

...Kimiyasu Kudo became the first pitcher to be called on the 15-second rule during a regular season game while pitching against the Yomiuri Giants on Tuesday night. The call came in the 7th with 1 out, no one on, and Yoshitomo Tani up to bat.
...Michihiro Ogasawara was back in the starting line-up for the Giants on Tuesday night.
...Kenji Yano could be called on to help the parent club out as a defensive replacement some time this week. Yano appeared in his first game August 6th after undergoing surgery on his right knee in December during the off-season.
...The Giants might turn to 23-year-old Shota Kimura to start a game on the 20th against the Yokohama Bay Stars.
