...Tadahito Iguchi was not in the starting line-up on Thursday due to back pains. It appears he's suffering from some inflammation in the right portion of his back.
...The Tigers announced that they will once again implement a temporary ban on jet balloons at home games (including those at Kyocera Dome) starting from the 21st.
...Craig Brazell got his left shoulder checked out on Thursday and the team plans on announcing the results from the test sometime on or after the 21st.

...All because of the flu: The Fighters played Thursday night's game with only 19 players (7 pitchers and 12 position players).
...Masks and antiseptic solution were everywhere at Sapporo Dome on Thursday. Reporters, Dome and team employees, and players all wore masks whenever they could.
...As if the Fighters need any more players out of the line-up: Kensuke Tanaka left Thursday's game prior to the top of the 7th due to pain in his right ankle. He apparently hurt the ankle while running out a bunt single in the bottom of the 5th.
...Alex Cabrera was not in the starting line-up on Thursday due to pain his right foot instep.
...Takeya Nakamura hurt his left thigh on a defensive play he made in a game against the Softbank Hawks on Wednesday. Nakamura, playing first a the time, was stretching his legs out as he was waiting for a throw from third and may have over-reached. According to the team trainer, Nakamura has some tightness and some inflammation in the area; he was held out of practice and was not in the starting line-up on Thursday.
...Hiroki Kokubo hit his 382nd career home run off Lions' starter Fumikazu Kimura in the 4th inning of Thursday night's game. Kokubo is tied with Tatsunori Hara for 17th place on the All-Time list.
...Not wanting to take any chances, the Hawks will begin placing antiseptic solution for fans to use near entrances and in the concourse areas at Yahoo Dome.
Antiseptic solution was made available for areas restricted to players, team personnel, and media.
...Brian Falkenborg was taken off the active roster on Thursday after complaining of tightness in his right elbow. He will be returning to the States at some point in the very near future to have the elbow examined. Falkenborg first experienced the tightness in his right elbow sometime after his last 1-2 appearances.
Falkenborg has had surgery on the elbow before, but feels that this is unrelated as the pain feels different.
...Yoshinobu Takahashi had a rigorous 4-hour work-out on Thursday morning and appears to be holding up just fine. Unless something goes wrong, he'll be making jos scheduled Ni-gun starts on the 22nd and 23rd.
...The Japan Amateur Baseball Association announced that next year's Intercity Baseball Tournament will take place between August 27 and September 7th, 2010. The JABA also stated that the Intercity Baseball Tournament will remain separate from the Industrial League Japan Baseball Tournament.
