Chunichi Dragons

...After all the various reports of Ni-gun players and personnel testing positive for the swine flu, here is the official count:

8/21: Ni-gun trainer
8/23: Ni-gun player, trainer, scorer
8/24: Ni-gun player

So there a total of 5 players have tested positive.

Hanshin Tigers

...Atsushi Fujimoto will likely join the parent club on Tuesday, in time for a 3-game series against the Yokohama Bay Stars.

...Remember those commemorative red bricks that the Koshien is currently selling? Apparently 3,000 of them have been sold since the end of June by parents of kids that play baseball.

Hiroshima Carp

...Mike Schultz was taken off the active roster on Monday with swelling in his right hand. Schultz's right hand was hit by a comebacker on the 23rd in a game against the Hanshin Tigers.

Orix Buffaloes

...The Buffaloes announced that they will ban jet balloons at all their home games, beginning the 25th, at both Kyocera Dome and Skymark Stadium.

...Tsuyoshi Kikuchihara earned his national FA rights on Monday with 8 years of service.

...Alex Cabrera went to get his left foot checked out on Monday and was diagnosed with enthesitis of the left tibialis posterior (後脛骨筋腱付着部炎). He's currently listed as day-to-day.

Softbank Hawks

...Tsuyoshi Wada might be able to pitch in a Ni-gun some time this month, perhaps as early as a 3-game series (8/25-8/27) against Western League Hanshin.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...The Bay Stars have been shut out 19 times this year, including 7 times by the Chunichi Dragons.

Yomiuri Giants

...Ni-gun Giants' players were wearing medical masks as they returned to Tokyo from a road trip with the Chunichi Dragons on Monday. They also wore masks going to and from the stadium yesterday.
