Chiba Lotte Marines

...Naoyuki Shimizu complained of neck pains and was removed from the active roster (8/25).

Chunichi Dragons

...The Dragons announced on Tuesday that 3 more Ni-gun players were diagnosed with the swine flu. That now makes 8 people in the Dragons organization.

Hanshin Tigers

...The vines that used to enclose Koshien Stadium were cut away prior to the start of renovations in 2007. But this spring, 233 batches of vines were replanted around the stadium and they have begun to take root. But it will take at least 10 years before the stadium is covered like it was before.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...Infielder Yuji Iiyama and infielder coach Yasunaga Makishi had fevers on Tuesday. Iiyama was taken off the active roster (8/25) and Makishi was informed to stay in his hotel in Kobe.

As part of their Swine Flu Countermeasures, the Fighters will keep any players and personnel with fevers, regardless of whether it might be swine flu related or not, away from the team for a number of days before allowing them back.

Rakuten Eagles

...Rick Short was removed from the active roster (8/25) due to right should pain. He went to the hospital on Monday to get it checked out and was diagnosed with an injury to his labrum and torn rotator cuff (関節唇損傷と腱板断裂).

Seibu Lions

...G.G. Sato was not in the starting line-up on Tuesday after complaining of a sore throat without a fever. Tests confirmed that it was not swine flu.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...The Bay Stars became the first team in the NPB to lose 70 games this season after the Hanshin Tigers beat them on Tuesday night, 4-3.

Yomiuri Giants

...Alex Ramirez wants to retire in a Yomiuri Giants uniform. He also fulfilled his 9 year requirement for international free agency.
