The home run was to Yuji Nerei, who’s probably played baseball in more places in the world than any other Japanese ballplayer. A friend in Sasebo said it was the best thing ever for the local crowds, getting to see Mr. Independent Leagues hit one off Mr. Comeback.
The important thing was that 1300 people showed up for the game, but unfortunately that’s probably not going to help save the Nagasaki team, sadly.
