...Atsushi Fujii was taken off the active roster today after he was diagnosed with a fractured left rib. He fractured the rib when he crashed into Kazuhiro Wada while trying to make a defensive play in a game against the Yokohama Bay Stars on Sunday.
...Craig Brazell was taken off the active roster today with an internal bruise on his left quadriceps muscle (左大腿四頭筋筋挫傷). No word on how long it will take for him to recover at this time.
...Kodai Sakurai held an outdoor practice session on Sunday for the first time since he hurt his right leg in a game against the Yakult Swallows on 9/1. The outdoor session lasted about 20 minutes and included some light running, playing catch, and soft toss.
Sakurai will likely take the entire day off today (9/7) and get back to training on Tuesday.
Said chief trainer Ishihara, "We'll increase his running work load. And sometime within the week we'll know when he'll be able to get into a game."

...It's becoming more likely that Yu Darvish will return to the parent club on the 8th when the Fighters begin a 3-game series against the Lions at Seibu Dome. Darvish was tentatively scheduled to start a game on the 11th against the Chiba Lotte Marines, but because he's been feeling well, the Fighters may bump his start up.
...Yoshinori Sato was taken off the active roster today with a popped blister on his right middle finger. This is the 4th time this season Yoshinori has been taken off the active roster for blister-related problems (4/27, 5/28, 7/20, and now today).
