Around the NPB Horn: Chang-Yong Lim to return Tuesday?

Hanshin Tigers

...Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi was taken off the active roster on Monday for rest.

Orix Buffaloes

...It looks like it''s going to take about 3 months for Jose Fernandez's fracture left cheekbone to heal.

Softbank Hawks

...Tadashi Settsu was given the day off on Sunday due to a fever.  It appears he is now ok and will be accompanying the team to Kansai for an upcoming series against the Orix Buffaloes that begins on the 15th.

Yakult Swallows

...Chang-Yong Lim joined the Ichi-gun team for practice on Monday; he will likely be added to the active rosters prior to tomorrow's game.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...This will be Toshihisa Nishi's last season with the Bay Stars.  Nishi was trying to negotiate an extension that would allow him to stay in Yokohama, but after contract talks stalled, he decided it would make more sense for him to move on.

The Bay Stars are starting on a youth movement and most likely couldn't guarantee him enough playing time next season.

Yomiuri Giants

...The Giants will begin selling tickets for Climax series from 10am on October 12th.  Members of the Giants' fan club will get first dibs on tickets.  Interested parties can also get more information from the Giants' website.

...Wirfin Obispo could be getting a start a start during the upcoming series against the Hanshin Tigers (starts on the 15th).  Obispo would essentially replace Seth Greisinger in the rotation.


...The NPB and KBO announced that the Japan Korea Club Championship game will take place on November 14th at 1pm at Nagasaki Big N Stadium.  The winning team will get a 20M yen cash prize while the losing team will get 5M yen.
