Hanshin Tigers

...Tomoaki Kanemoto recorded his 398th career double on Sunday and moves into 10th place on the all-time list.

...Kodai Sakura was added to the active roster on Sunday after convincing the coaches that he was ready to play again: he took 48 cuts during BP and hit 8 over the fence; and he ran the bases without any problems.

...Norihiro Akahoshi may not be returning to the Tigers for the rest of the season.

...Craig Brazell took some light BP on Sunday before running a couple of 50m dashes and playing some light catch.

"I felt pretty good hitting the ball," said Brazell, "I'm glad I was able to swing the bat. I feel I haven't taken any steps backward but have instead moved forward."

...2007 Rookie of the Year Keiji Uezono joined up with the Ichi-gun team for practice and will likely be added to the active roster at some point for a possible start against the Hiroshima Carp on the 19th.

...Masashi Nohara made his first pro start on Sunday against the Yokohama Bay Stars and went 2-for-4.

Orix Buffaloes

...Jose Fernandez will likely be out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken left cheek bone while trying to make a play on the field in the 7th inning of Sunday night's game against the Seibu Lions.  It's also possible that this will be the last of Fernandez in a Buffaloes' uniform.

Rakuten Eagles

...Ryo Hijirisawa tests for the flu virus came up negative. He had a fever on Sunday and was taken to a hospital in Fukuoka for testing.  He was still taken off the active roster on Sunday.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...Bay Stars acting owner Kuniaki Sasaki confirmed that Tomio Tashiro will not be returning at Ichi-gun manager next season but has been asked to return as a Ni-gun manager.

"We did indeed talk," said Sasaki, "We need to decide who the next Searex manager will be.  There's no denying Tashiro's ability."

Yomiuri Giants

...Seth Greisinger's return to the Ichi-gun roster might be delayed a few days -- it appears he's suffering from a tired tired shoulder/elbow.  He has spent most of his time in Ni-gun riding a stationary bike and has not done anything throwing yet.
