Hanshin Tigers

...Tomoaki Kanemoto played in his 1,600th consecutive game on Tuesday night. That's second only to Sachio Kinugasa's 2,215.

Softbank Hawks

...Tadashi Settsu appeared in his 63rd game on Tuesday night and set a new Pacific League record for most appearances in a game by a rookie over a season.

The NPB record is 71, set in 1942 by Yasuo Hayashi (Asahi-gun).  The team record of 69 was set by Tadashi Sugiura in 1959 and matched by Shuji Yoshida in 2000.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...Looks like 46-year-old vet Kimiyasu Kudo won't have a job with the Bay Stars next season either.

The team announced earlier today that it will not offer a contract extension to Kudo for next season.  Kudo has expressed the desire to continue pitching.

Sanpso reports that the Hanshin Tigers and Chiba Lotte Marines aren't interested in him, while the Softbank Hawks, Seibu Lions, and Rakuten Eagles have left the door open a peep.

Yomiuri Giants

...Seth Greisinger was diagnosed with inflammation in his right elbow.  He will likely hold off from throwing the ball until the inflammation is gone.

...Yoshinobu Takahashi's surgery was a success.  Takahashi should be ready to re-join the team during spring camp next year.

...An umpire strike may have been averted as the the NPB gave in to the umpire union's demand of continuing to employ a private pension system in a meeting on Tuesday.
