Around the NPB Horn: Swallows lost 9 straight for first time since 1992

Hanshin Tigers

...Craig Brazell took 57 cuts of the swing and hit 11 over the fence during BP on Tuesday; he hit three in the 150m range.

So far, Brazell is still on track for a return on the 17th.

...The Tigers are 18-0 in games where Akihiro Yano hits a homer -- Yano hit a 2-run homer in Tuesday night's game that helped seal their 5-3 victory over the Yomiuri Giants.

Yakult Swallows

...The Swallows slide continued Tuesday night as they lost their 9th straight game.  The last time that happened was back in September of 1992.

If the Swallows lose again on Wednesday, it will be the first time since 1973 (36 years) that the team has lost 10 games in a row.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...Kimiyasu Kudo is only thinking about playing within Japan at this point in time.

Yomiuri Giants

...Shinnosuke Abe hit his 114th Tokyo Dome home run. The puts him above Kazuhiro Kiyohara in sole possession of 5th place on the all-time list.
