...Tomoaki Kanemoto picked up his 1,400th career RBI last night against in a game against the Yomiuri Giants.  That ties him with Masahiro Doi for 11th on the all-time list.

Hiroshima Carp

...Kan Ohtake won his 50th career game last night against the Chunich Dragons.

Orix Buffaloes

...Tuffy Rhodes hit his 21st home run of the year last night against the Softbank Hawks and ties the NPB record for most home runs by a foreigner over the age of 40.

George Altman established the mark in 1974 while he was with Lotte; he was also 41.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...Kimiyasu Kudo merchandise has been selling better after the team announced that they would not be giving him a contract extension for next year.

Yomiuri Giants

...The Giants have lost 5 consecutive series against the Tigers for the first time in club history (dating back to 1952 when the 3-game series first began).


...Keiichi Yabu has returned to Japan.  But he's hasn't given up yet.  He plans on returning to the US sometime in October for the Arizona Fall League in the hopes that an MLB team will show interest.
