Today's Probable Central League Starters

Giants: Wirfin Obispo
Tigers: Yasutomo Kubo

Takashi Toritani is swinging a hot bat right now (5 G, 9-for-19, HBP, 2 BB, 1 K, 2B, 3 HR, 5 R, 5 RBI) the Giants would do well to exercise extreme caution when facing him.  But then so is Shinnosuke Abe: 6 G, 7-for-20, HBP, 3 BB, 4 K, 2B, 4 HR, 6 R, 10 RBI.

Bay Stars: Ryan Glynn
Swallows: Yuki

The Swallows finally managed to break-out of a 9-game losing streak last night with a win.  They'll send Yuki to the mound in the hopes that he'll be able to turn his 3 game losing streak around. He hasn't been all that bad (38 IP, 16 R, 13 ER) but he has struggled with his control (18 BB / 3 HBP).

Carp: Yuki Saito
Dragons: Kazuki Yoshimi

The Carp need to win just as much as the Swallows do right now and they're hoping Saito can shake off the rough outing he had during his last start.  Andy Phillips has been swinging a solid bat: 4 G, 7-for-17, 1 BB, 2 K, 3B, 1 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI.

Today's Probable Pacific League Starters

Fighters: Shugo Fujii
Eagles: Hiromichi Fujiwara

T. Yamasaki is swinging a strong bat for the Eagles.  Over his last 5 games: 8-for-20, BB, 2 K, 2B, 2 HR, 2 R, 7 RBI.  But with the Eagles this year, it seems the most unexpected players come through, like last night when Kenshi and Takasu came up with big hits.  Perhaps its because they have a team full of pesky hitters.

Marines: Yoshihisa Naruse
Lions: Fumiya Nishiguchi

Naruse is coming off 2 back-to-back complete game victories (18 IP, 14 H, 25K, 3 BB, 2 HBP, 4 R, 3 ER) as he takes the mound against the Lions.  Hiroyuki Nakajima has been swinging a hot bat as of late: 4 G, 6-for-16, 1 BB, 4 K, 2B, 2 HR, 2 R, 6 RBI.  So has Tomoya Satozaki for the Marines: 4 G, 7-for-13, 2 BB, 3 K, 2B, R, RBI.

Buffaloes: Masaki Ihara
Hawks: Shota Ohba

These two teams combined for 28 runs over the first two games of the current series.  Will it be another blow out?  Ihara takes the mound for just the third time this season as Ohba tries to improve on his last start (3 IP, 5 H, 6 K, 6 BB, 2 WP, 2 R, 2 ER).
